How an AI Video Generator Turns a Brief Into a Shot
An AI video generator is a model that drafts a short moving image from text, a still, or both. This page is about how to look at those tools. It does not render a video for you.
Search results for “AI video generator” and “AI video generator online” usually mix three different things: a research model, a website where you type a prompt, and a piece of software that calls someone else’s model. The picture that comes back can look similar. The license, the wait, and the controls do not.
“Online” mostly means the model runs on the provider’s computers and you work in a browser. You are not installing a studio. You are also not owning the model. If the product changes its plan, or shuts a model down, the workflow goes with it. Export anything a project depends on.
Three families of tools
Text-to-video starts from a description. It is the right family when you are still inventing the scene. Image-to-video starts from a picture and is kinder to a product, a face, or a layout you already like. A third family edits or extends a clip you already have. Not every product offers all three, and the names on the marketing page are less useful than a single test with your own material.
What is worth judging
Motion, prompt adherence, and consistency matter more than a resolution number. Hands, small text, and physics are the usual failures. A clip can look expensive in a thumbnail and fall apart when someone watches it. Generate the shot you actually need — a product turn, a walk, a landscape — and decide from that, not from a showreel.
Cost is real and unstable. Some AI video makers offer a few free clips. Most ongoing work is paid. This site does not list prices. They would be wrong by the time you read them. The provider’s page is the price.
A workflow that stays honest
- Write one shot, or choose one still. Leave the storyboard for the editor.
- Pick a model whose public description matches that input. The model notes are a map, not a winner’s list.
- Generate in that tool. Watch twice. Change one line of the prompt.
- Cut the usable shots together. Add music you have the right to use.
- If the clip will be an ad, read the commercial terms before you show a client.
Look at the shot, then the tool.
The scene index and the prompt library are on the homepage. The model notes are one page away.
